Richard Vachet Elected to American Mass Spectrometry Society Board

Richard Vachet In a national vote by more than 7,500 members, Richard Vachet, Chemistry, was elected to a two-year term on the board of directors of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS). The organization represents academic, industrial and government laboratories and is the world’s largest society for mass spectrometry and allied topics. Vachet, who joins the board in July, will in take the lead in directing the society’s educational activities. Each year, ASMS supports over 15 short courses on a variety of mass spectrometry-related topics serving over 700 participants. In addition, Vachet will organize the annual ASMS Fall Workshop, which provides a highly interactive tutorial on specific topics related to mass spectrometry. Finally, Vachet will lead the effort to re-publish classic books in mass spectrometry as well as expand the educational content of the society’s website at www.asms.org Source: UMass Amherst : In The Loop
